How to choose LED writing board--About light sources

Light sources are the most important part of LED Marker Board. There are usually three kinds of light sources: hat-shaped led lights, LED light bar, flex LED strip.

1. Hat-shaped led lights
Hat-shaped led light is a traditional light source. Factory usually use Red, Green and Blue (RGB) color led lights as the light source of LED Writing Board. It is cheaper but not bright enough, and the life-span is no more than ONE year.
2. LED light bar
LED light bar is an assembly PCB made with hard PCB. Depending on the different needs, the LED can be assembled with SMD LED or in-line LED.
Advantages: easy to fix, processing and installation.
Disadvantages: cannot bend at liberty, so it is not suitable for irregular shape products and is easy to be broken off after long-distance transportation.
3. Flex LED strip
Flex LED strip is an assembly PCB made with FPC and SMD LED. The thickness is only as a coin. Flex LED strip can be cut according to your need and the light will not be affected by any extension. The FPC is soft and can be bent, folded and winding, so the Flex LED strip is widely used for irregular shape products.

The SMD LED is much brighter than the hat-shaped led, so the LED Writing Board with SMD LED light source is more expensive than the latter and the board with Flex LED strip is more expensive than the one with LED light bar.
